There has been an influx of staycations all around the U.S. Sometimes you just need a break from even the place you call home. With most Americans working from home, things can become a little weary.

Recently, I was just scrolling through TikTok, and kept seeing the same hotel popping up. After searching through all of the videos and comments, I finally found the location.

The Arlo Nomad, located in New York City, has made its rounds on TikTok becoming the self proclaimed “Viral Hotel of the Year”.

I stayed in the King Sky Room for four days on the 28th floor. During the four days of my stay, I explored the neighboring blocks around the hotel for some gems.

Its central location lends itself to many Manhattan gems such as a Starbucks on the corner, Takle 3, a modern Korean restaurant right next door, two central locations of Sweetgreen nearby, and Milk Bar for your midnight sweet tooth–all in walking distance.

Though there are many different floor plans and rooms, there is one that reigns supreme. The King Sky Room at the Arlo is amazing and comes equipped with floor-to-ceiling windows wrapping the entire room while showcasing the rest of the Manhattan skyline. You will be blown away by the incredible views.

The hotel also has many other things to offer such as the Arlo Rooftop (open from summer to late fall weather permitting), the Lamalo Restaurant which is located on the rooftop. However, the star of the show is the 24-hour bodega located on the main floor.
