Music festival season is finally upon us! The weather is breaking, the sun is shining, and musicians are hitting the stage. Travelers are heading out of town for the Spring to see some of their favorite artists perform around the world. Festivals are happening a little bit of everywhere this Spring. And the last thing you want to do is miss out.

Picking the right music festival to travel to may come with a lot of deciding factors. In addition to cost and must-have travel items to bring along with you, it’s important to figure out what type of music experience you want to have and where. From the ultimate R&B and soul fest to EDM, Hip Hop, Jazz, and all-around Afro-centric musical experiences, here are a few festivals taking over the Spring season.

Blavity House Party

When: June 14-15, 2024

The biggest musical house party of the year is heading to take over Nashville and Blavity is large and in charge. This summer, the Blavity House Party is crashing into Music City like never before. It’s the must-attend event of the summer with some of your favorite artists hitting the stage. There’s a little bit of everyone you want to see performing at this year’s house party including Victoria Monet, Lil Wayne, Shenshea, Dru Hill, and more. Travelers can enjoy live DJ sets from DJ Millie and DJ NP3 as well as a fully immersive festival experience on both days. Tickets are available now for the Blavity event of the summer. 

Rolling Loud California – Inglewood, CA

When: March 15-17, 2024

When SXSW wraps up travelers should head to Cali for Rolling Loud California. The multi-day music festival is happening this spring with headlining performances from everybody you want to see. On the first night, Nicki Minaj is headlining the stage with special performances from a cadre of artists, including Sexxy Red, Rae Sremmurd, and YGand Tyga. Nights two and three are also jampacked with performances. Concertgoers can’t expect live performances from Post Malone, Summer Walker, and Big Sean with Future and Metro Boomin headlining on the third night. This year, Rolling Loud is celebrating 10 years of taking over Inglewood and some of the hottest names in music are joining in on the festivities.

Dreamvile Festival – Raleigh, NC

When: April 6-7, 2024

Although J. Cole is currently still on tour with Drake, the rapper is still heading to take over North Carolina this spring. Dreamville Festival is happening at the beginning of April. The official lineup hasn’t been announced yet. However, tickets are on sale now and fans are speculating who they’ll see taking to the stage this year. 

Coachella – Indio, CA

When: April 12-14, 19-21

Coachella is one of the most anticipated music festivals every year and 2024 is no exception. First, there’s a special performance by No Doubt. It’s been nearly a decade since fans have seen the band perform together. So folks are whispering about what to expect during this iconic performance, Additionally, travelers can expect to see some of their favorite artists hit the stage in Indigo, CA including Doja Cat, Tyler The Creator, Lil Uzi Vert, Jhene Aiko, and more.

National Cannabis Festival – Washington DC

When: April 19-20, 2024

The National Cannabis Festival might be the ultimate smoker’s event of the spring. The festival ascends on Washington DC 420 weekend and there will be plenty to see and do for the annual canna-holiday. Travelers can enjoy live performances from Thundercat on the first night followed by a special live show from Wu-Tang Clan and Redman on April 20. Devin The Dude, the  Backyard Band, Black Alley, and more will also be hitting the stage. In between performances, travelers can also check out the National Cannabis Championship and enjoy a ton of other cannabis-centered exhibits.

Jazz & Heritage Festival – New Orleans, LA

When: April 25 – May 5, 2024

The Jazz & Heritage Festival in NOLA is back again for another year celebrating and honoring jazz, blues, rock, and soul music. The event has been happening since the 1970s and attracts millions of travelers from across the country every year. This year’s lineup is creative and eclectic; encompassing more than traditional jazz and blues artists. Iconic performances from Earth, Wind, and Fire, The Killers, The Foo Fighters, The Rolling Stones, and more will be rocking the stages in New Orleans this spring.

Sol Blume Festival – Sacramento, CA

When: May 3-5, 2024

Sol Blume is definitely for R&B lovers. The festival is happening in Sacramento May 3-5 and everyone you want to hear sing is hitting the stage. Tickets are on sale now for the multi-day event with headlining performances from Sza, Snoh Alegra, and Kaytramine. Travelers will also see live performances from Masego, SiR, Wale, JoJo, Doechii, Ari Lenox, and a slew of other R&B and soul faves.

Lovers & Friends – Las Vegas

When: May 4, 2024

This year’s Lovers & Friends Festival is already sold out. That’s right. Every ticket is gone. However, if you already have tickets, you’re in for a treat. Some of music’s greatest names will be invading Vegas this spring including Janet Jackson, Snoop Dogg, Nas, Ludacris, Ja Rule, and a gang of other incredible acts. What’s great about Lovers & Friends Fest is that they transcend music eras by bringing acts from different periods together on the same stage. This is a great chance to see your favorite nostalgic acts while catching some of the hottest new artists in the game. 

Electric Daisy Carnival – Las Vegas, NV

Before the spring wraps up, there’s no way the EDM lovers could be left out. If electronic dance music is among your top favorites, the Electronic Daisy Carnival has everything you’re looking for. The event is the largest EDM festival in North America. Every year, the event attracts music, technology, and art lovers from around the world. Paired with performances from some of the hottest EDM DJs and artists, and you’re in for a musical transformation in the Sin City.
