If you’re traveling via I-285 over the next few days, prepare to leave your house earlier, because travel times will increase. The delays are a result of two major road projects on parts of I-285 westbound in north Fulton County, Atlanta.

I-285 westbound offramp to Roswell Road is closed by the Georgia Department of Transportation but will reopen at 5 a.m. on Monday morning. Travelers can still use the eastbound ramp.

Georgia Department of Transportation’s Kyle Collis says, “Peachtree-Dunwoody Road will shut down for the weekend. That’s all in anticipation in preparation for a brand new exit point.”

Collins goes on to say, “As a driver, you’re going to have to think ahead. I know we’re always asking you to do that and be alert and think ahead, but you’re actually going to have to exit once this is finalized.”

There will be a new Peachtree-Dunwoody Road exit location starting Sunday.

“You still have to get to point A, point B. The side roads will be bad too, Roswell and Abernathy, but I guess we will have to deal with it,” says business owner Chris Deetanna to WSB-TV Atlanta 2’s Christian Jennings.
