Broccoli Fest, &pizza Come Together To Launch Broccoli Bar In D.C.
Broccoli Fest creators, Brandon McEachern, Marcus Allen, and Darryl Perkins, have partnered with &pizza CEO Michael Lastoria to bring a hip new bar concept to the Shaw neighborhood in D.C.
The two groups ran into each other in Austin at South by Southwest. During that time, Lastoria informed the Broccoli Fest trio that a new storefront was becoming available in the Shaw neighborhood. After several months of casual talks, the idea of Broccoli Bar was brought to life.
The bar will feature a Happy Hour called “The Vibe,” that will run from 6 to 10 p.m. with discounted drinks and DJs. The idea is that most people want to go out, have fun, but still make it home to catch their favorite shows and get a full night’s rest.
Patrons can indulge in &pizza favorites plus a unique beer, wine, and cocktail menu that will surely keep them coming back.
In addition to “The Vibe” the bar will host “Broccoli Talks,” which will be a series of talks (similar to TED talks) where business owners and entrepreneurs come in to chat. The first chat will take place on opening day and will feature the founders of the venture capital firm, Humble Ventures.
Broccoli Bar will open on October 26 at 1817 7th St., NW in Washington, D.C.
