Exploring the landscape and renowned wineries in Northern California’s Sonoma and Napa Valleys is a great way to spend a summer day. If you are eager to return to your favorite wineries, many have reopened and are welcoming visitors back this month.

As you can imagine, there are a few restrictions. According to sonoma.com, it’s important to note that under the new COVID-19 guidelines you’ll be required to make a reservation in advance, wear a mask until seated, and keep your distance from other small groups when visiting. Per guidelines outlined by the State of California on July 13, all tastings will need to take place outdoors only. Indoor tastings are suspended until further notice.

Here are a few of the wineries who have recently opened their doors to visitors: J Vineyards, Ledson Winery, Buena Vista Winery, and Landmark Vineyards. All locations have specialized hours and some are only accommodating small groups, so be sure to call in advance.

Just 30 minutes east of Sonoma Valley, you will find the iconic rolling hills of Napa Valley, where vineyards overrun the landscape and wineries beckon enthusiasts from across the globe. Napa Valley is instilling similar guidelines as they also welcome back visitors this month. According to napavalley.com, all visits must be scheduled in advance, groups will be limited in size, and tastings will take place in seated areas at least six feet from other guests. You’ll also be required to wear a mask until seated.
