From virtual travel tours to birthday parties via Zoom, we’re learning to celebrate a new way of life. Events that were once only seen as being possible if it were in person, are now thriving virtually including night markets.

Richmond Night Market is a black-owned and operated event co-founded by Adrienne Cole Johnson and Melody Short. The market highlights handmade, independent small businesses and is a great initiative for supporting local artists. The night market is held outdoors monthly on 17th street in Richmond, Virginia but in light of the pandemic, they’ve decided to take a different approach.

This month, the Richmond Night Market will be revamped into a Virtual Night Market Experience and will take place on Saturday, May 9th from 5 – 10 p.m. via Instagram Live. The best thing about the Virtual Night Market Experience is you don’t have to be in Richmond to attend!

Tune into the Virtual Night Market Experience where you’ll be able to shop with over 20 small business owners and artisans as well as enjoy music by Brooklyn-based DJ Monday Blue.
