Virginia rapper Pusha T is fresh off the release of his latest album, It’s Almost Dry. In celebration of his home state of VA— more specifically the state’s Hampton Roads area— he recently teamed up with Apple Maps to give fans a look into some of his favorite spots to visit.

Among his favorite ‘757’ hangouts, were a few eateries. But the rapper also listed two of the area’s HBCUs— Norfolk State University and Hampton University.

If you want to visit the Hampton Roads area like local Pusha T, here are the spots you’ll want to add to your itinerary.

1. Feather n' Fin Chicken and Seafood

If you ask any 757 native, they’ll also suggest this spot. It’s almost like a rite of passage. As for Pusha T, he says his go-to order is a boneless chicken breast sandwich combo with cheese.

“You put hot sauce, honey, and mayo on it— if you ask me,” the rapper told Apple Maps.

2. Virginia Beach

While there are a few other smaller beaches in the area, locals— especially 80s and 90s babies— have visited Va. Beach at least a few times in their life.

From old school putt putt to the site of Pharrell’s first Something In The Water Festival, the beachfront has been a staple for locals and visitors alike.

“The oceanfront has sentimental value to me because it was the place where my brother was discovered rapping.”

3. Norfolk State University

As a proud alum of this Virginia HBCU, I can see why Pusha T would list it (or maybe I’m biased). From one of the most recognized bands, The Spartan Legion, to some of the best campus parties— NSU is special to so many.

“I went to Norfolk State University! I went for one year, and man, it was a very, very good time,” the rapper said.

4. The NorVa

When you think of most major cities, there’s always that one iconic entertainment or music venue that has hosted the area’s best concerts, shows, and parties. That’s what the NorVa is for the Hampton Roads area. While it’s not the biggest venue (if you’re from the area, shout out to The Scope), it has seen some pretty big names in its day.

“Every time Jeezy shows up, it’s a sell out.”

5. The Alley

According to the rapper, this is likely the longest running nightclub in the 757. Located in Hampton, the club is easily accessible for any and everyone across The Seven Cities— so it’s often the meetup spot.

“Everybody knows everybody,” he said. “It’s just very homey.”

6. Pusha T's Other Favorite Hangouts

The rapper also listed Hampton University, Luca Restaurant, and Portsmouth’s The District— among others.
