Thanks to Play Airlines, travelers have a few days to score flight deals to Amsterdam, Paris, and other popular European hotspots.
The Icelandic low-cost carrier’s Memorial Day Sale starts May 20 and offers cheap flights abroad. Play Airlines’ website details that the cheap tickets are one-way and only apply to its basic fare. With that in mind, flyers will also have to pay for a carry-on, meals, and the option to pick their seats.
While there’s no catch, booking details are tricky to ensure the travel deal. According to The Points Guy, travelers can only snag the advertised sale prices if they book their one-way flight “as part of a round-trip itinerary.”
Essentially, the deal is great for those looking for a one-way trip or who don’t mind booking their goings and comings separately. Play Airlines’ sale prices are “first come, first serve,” and the deal runs until midnight on May 27.
The carrier’s basic fare only allows travelers to bring a small personal item under 22 pounds. Carry-on luggage is an additional $43.
When Are The Eligible Travel Dates?
The travel dates for the cheap fares are from August through December 2024. Notably, there’s a blackout period during the Thanksgiving holiday.

A flight to Iceland is as low as $99, and you can snag one to Europe for $129+. The travel deal applies to U.S. flights from Baltimore (BWI), Boston (BOS), New York (SWF), or airports in the Washington D.C. area. From those starting points, travelers can adventure to nearly ten European cities. The destinations are Iceland (KEF), Amsterdam (AMS), Berlin (BER), Copenhagen (CPH), Dublin (DUB), Dusseldorf (DUS), Hamburg (HAM), London (STN) or Paris (CDG).
All the flights will have layovers in Iceland, where Play Airlines is headquartered.
