Thinking about packing up and leaving your home country for life abroad? Are you having trouble narrowing down options on where to relocate to? This latest poll from InterNations, a company that examines various factors to determine how countries rank for expats, has named what it feels is the safest country.

According to the company’s expat insider report, Oman ranks number one for safety when it comes to living abroad as an expat.

Expat Sandeep Kumar told the Oman times, “There is no doubt that Oman is one of the safest countries in the world.” Another expat, Maripaz Celoso added, “It is truly a peaceful country. I love Oman.”

In addition to ranking for safety, the new list also ranked countries for overall quality of life for expats. When making the determination on best quality of life, six factors are considered: leisure options, personal happiness, travel and transportation, health and wellbeing, safety and security and digital life.

Overall, Taiwan has been voted the best place in the world for expats, followed by Vietnam, Portugal, Mexico, Spain, Singapore, Bahrain, Ecuador, Malaysia and Czech Republic.
