What was supposed to be a simple flight from Texas to New Mexico, instead became a stunning case of monkey see, monkey do.
A Florida man is facing federal sexual assault charges after groping a female passenger, telling officials he thought it was fine because the President of the United States said so.
While on a Southwest flight, the female passenger dozed off, only to be awakened by a man lifting up her sweater and touching her skin around her bra line. Giving him the benefit of the doubt, she thought it was an innocent mistake, however, she was wrong.
Falling back asleep, the same man sitting in the row behind her tried it again 30 minutes later, only this time that same man grabbed her by the arm, touching her right side around her ribs and bra line. Confused by his boldness, the passenger decided to confront him, inquiring why he felt the need to do this. With no luck, she asked a crew member for another seat.
Once the plane landed, the man, later identified as Bruce Michael Alexander, was taken into custody. Oddly, the man didn’t seem to be concerned by the consequences of his actions. He asked police what his sentence was for the charge he was being arrested for. Alexander later told police the reason he committed the crime: the president “says it’s OK to grab women by their private parts.”
If you recall, our 45th President, Mr. Donald J. Trump, was recorded during a taping of Access Hollywood with TV personality Billy Bush, stating that “and when you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything.”
Lately, Southwest Airlines has had several incidents like this occur. Just last week, a flight from Los Angeles to Dallas was forced to make an emergency landing in Albuquerque, New Mexico, after a passenger was harassing a woman seated next to him. Just before take off, passenger Justin Riley Brafford allegedly put his arm on the woman’s leg, and after refusing his advances, he forcibly tried to “play footsie” with her. The woman tried to get him to stop, but he allegedly “[pulled] on her sweater,” asked her to go out repeatedly after the flight and if she was staying alone in her hotel.
Alexander is being charged with one federal count of abusive sexual contact.
