The Kimpton Everly Hotel in Hollywood is trying out a new social experiment. The hotel is taking the idea of a guest book to a whole new level.

For a limited time, guests who stay at Kimpton’s Everly Hotel will have a chance to learn about the guest who previously stayed in their room. The social experiment aims to grow human connection by asking guests to leave a part of themselves in the room.

The concept will only be available in Room 301 of the hotel. This room is located on the 12th floor and provides awesome views of Hollywood. Those who stay in this standard King room are encouraged to take pictures of themselves and leave notes in the guest book.

The room also features unique amenities that aid in sparking human interaction. The goal is for guests to dig deep, get creative, and share something fun and exciting for future guests to read.

While this may sound a bit over the top, the hotel has even offered extra incentives to promote this experiment. Those incentives include:

  • 15% off the best flexible rate at The Kimpton Everly Hotel
  • $10 per night donation to The Trevor Project or No Kid Hungry
  • Welcome amenity valued at $200 with gifts hand-selected by the hotel
