Kanye West’s antics over the past few months have been…something, but the way he travels is definitely impressive.
Kanye’s wife, Kim Kardashian-West, posted a video of their massive Boeing 747 plane as the family boarded on Sunday night. “No big deal just taking a private 747 this is how Kanye does it now,” Mrs. West said on Instagram. “Only 747s. Private. I’ve never even heard of this but whatever.”
Called the ‘Yeezy floating office,’ the private jet is fit for a king. It could seat 660 people comfortably but Kanye uses the space for more important things. In the video, Kim gives viewers a tour showing off the luxury double-bed suite, marble bathroom, lounge area, guest rooms, and dining area for the Wests’ to fly in style. There is even room for an intense workout as Kardashian brought her personal trainer, Melissa Alcantara, along for the ride.
Just to give you an idea of what type of luxury this aircraft is, the Air Force One, known for flying the President of the United States, is also a 747. The mother of three mentions that the plane is a gift from Adidas for Kanye’s Yeezy brand.
While it’s nice to be able to fly in luxury, the Wests got some backlash. Viewers of the video called it obnoxious and unnecessary. One comment said: “You have the power and wealth to travel sustainably, and instead you do the opposite. For what? An Instagram flex?” Some came to the couple’s defense, basically telling them to get over it. “People need to get over the jealousy!!,” another commenter said. “This couple worked hard to get what they have so it is their business how they choose to use it.”
The Wests aren’t the only celebrities flying in style. Oprah Winfrey, Jay-Z, Mark Zuckerburg, and Sir Richard Branson also get out of town in luxury planes worth millions.
