Want A Free Trip To Jamaica? This Bar Will Fly You Out If You Bartend For A Week
Floyd Forbes, the owner of Floyd’s Pelican Bar in Jamaica, hasn’t taken a vacation since his restaurant opened in 2001.
That’s where you come in.
The bar, along with Virgin Holidays, is offering one lucky winner seven nights’ accommodation in a 4-star hotel, a pair of economy Virgin Atlantic flights to Jamaica, and $1270 USD to spend. You’ll also get to work a “trial shift” at the bar.
The hotel is located about a mile off the coast of Jamaica and is only accessible by boat.
“You’ll pull pints in one of the most instagrammable drinking spots in the world. With flights and seven nights accommodation included, you’ll enjoy a taste (and a sip or two) of the Caribbean. Cheers to that!,” the Virgin Holidays website, which is advertising the gig, says.
To work at the bar, you’ll have to fulfill a few requirements, like commuting by boat or paddle board and serving beer, according to Insider. But don’t worry – you’ll enjoy plenty of fun in the sun.
“This is an incredible chance for anyone looking to combine the best job in the world with one of the best overseas destinations – and giving a local legend a well-deserved holiday – so what are you waiting for?” Jolie Kidd, a former model who is helping with the application process, told the Daily Mail.
“We have sent millions of British holidaymakers to explore this idyllic part of the world over the last few decades, but never like this. It’s an opportunity to truly immerse yourself in the Jamaican culture – a once in a lifetime experience,” Joe Thompson, managing director of Virgin Holidays told the Daily Mail.
There’s a catch, however. In order to enter, you must be a legal resident of the United Kingdom, be over 18, and have previous bartending experience.
