Heathrow Airport is in a giving spirit for the holidays. According to The Mirror, hundreds of Little Helpers will be distributing 10,000 Christmas gifts to passengers in the UK’s largest airport.

How it will work:

The gifts will be handed out throughout the airport’s four terminals to celebrate the holiday and spread cheer for the festive season. Passengers who would like to receive a present need only to look for one of Heathrow’s Little Helpers. They will be easy to spot in their purple Santa hats and they will be set up near one of the 25 Christmas trees present in the various terminals.

Presents will come from stores, restaurants, and bars located in the airport. They will include items such as breakfasts from Pret a Manger, Chanel fragrances, and designer-branded makeup from World Duty Free. In addition, the airport will be giving out free flights and lounge access.

The busiest time of year

This December is expected to be the busiest for Heathrow in the past three years. It is estimated that over three million passengers will travel through the airport within the last two weeks of 2022. This is double the number of travelers seen during this period last year.

To add more Christmas joy for travelers in the airport, Heathrow has also created an advent calendar, which is featured on its mobile app and website.

Offer good through December

Behind the windows on the calendar passengers will find offers they can take advantage of through December 25. These include deals from stores found in Heathrow, exclusive World Duty Free promotions, discounts on festive-inspired food and beverage menus, and extra points from the Heathrow Rewards program.

“After three years of restricted travel, we are looking forward to welcoming millions of passengers who will be passing through Heathrow this December to go on festive breaks with family and friends,” said Tonia Fielding, director of services at Heathrow Airport. “We have been working closely with all our partners across the airport to recruit more colleagues to provide a great airport experience.”

From the director of services:

“We want to ensure passengers can depart as they mean to go on and enjoy the holiday season from the moment they arrive at Heathrow. We hope our Little Helpers will spread a bit of festive spirit this Christmas.”
