When staying at resorts, free WiFi and an open bar can feel like the ultimate perks. During my trip to the Dominican Republic a few summers ago, I was in heaven after receiving welcome cocktails and heading to the beach while scrolling my timeline courtesy of the free internet.

However, resorts are aspiring to give travelers so much more. They want to step their game up, providing us with the free perks we really deserve.
