And just like that, nothing is the same at Disney Parks now that the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind rollercoaster has entered your Disney World group chat.

If you don’t want us to spoil this ride for you, then here is where you should stop reading. The ride opens to the public on May 27 at the now World Discovery section of Epcot at Disney World Florida. Make sure to reserve your spot when the virtual queue opens because word on the street is it will book up pretty fast.

Now, for those who want the details, this attraction is full of surprises and hidden eggs from the moment you step into the cosmos to help save the galaxy.

The ride is the first-ever reverse launch on a Disney Roller Coaster, the largest fully-enclosed coaster in the world, and it’s also the first roller coaster thrill ride at Epcot.

We had the chance to preview the attraction and can attest that this is the best rollercoaster at Disney. But not just for superfans who get an opportunity to meet their Guardians heroes, including Star Lord Peter Quill, Gamora, Rocket, Drax, and Groot, but there is also a cameo from Nova-Prime Irani Rael!

It’s also the best because of what happens before you even step foot on the rollercoaster.

“There so much content in this attraction and more content than anything else I’ve worked on at Disney,” Spencer Lynn, producer for Walt Disney Imagineering, tells Travel Noire. “I hope guests walk away from this attraction and say, ‘that was more fun than I’ve had in a long time,’ because I think the Guardians lend themselves to a different type of fun than you may have on other rides.”

What To Expect On The Ride

The pre-show is a thriller in itself as the experience mimics the storytelling from Star Wars Rise of the Resistance at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

In the queue line, thrill-seekers will stroll through what the Disney Imagineer team calls the “Wonders of Xandar.”  Remember those field trips at the planetarium back in the day? That’s what you should expect as you wait for the ride.  Imagineers call it a Galaxarium – a planetarium-like exhibition showcasing the similarities and differences between Xandar and Earth’s galaxies.

And just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, as you finally step foot on the attraction to venture on the planet Xandar, you will hear some iconic songs from the films as you try to escape the ride’s villain Eson the Searcher.

You don’t know what song you will ride to until the ride blasts off.

Just know the songs are Star Lord Peter Quill Walkman approved as the attraction’s mixtape features one of six songs: “September” by Earth, Wind & Fire; “Disco Inferno” by The Trammps; “Conga” by Gloria Estefan; “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” by Tears for Fears; “I Ran (So Far Away) by A Flock of Seagulls, or “One Way or Another” by Blondie throughout.

It’s important to note that the ride also rotates 360 degrees, allowing you to focus on the action through the Galaxy.
