Fancy Feast, considered the top gourmet wet cat food brand in the U.S., is taking its love for feline cuisine to a whole new level with a groundbreaking celebration, Fête du Feline by Fancy Feast, on International Cat Day. Following the overwhelming success of last summer’s pop-up Italian trattoria, “Gatto Bianco by Fancy Feast,” the brand is returning to the foodie mecca of New York City to offer cat lovers an opportunity to savor even more delectable bites – including pâté – inspired by their beloved Fancy Feast offerings.

For two days, on August 7th and 8th, Madison Square Park will be transformed into a haven of cat food-inspired culinary experiences (for humans) and a joyous tribute to all things feline. The festivities promise hand-drawn pet portraits, custom engraved serving ware, insights from Purina’s esteemed pet behaviorist, and a much-coveted meet-and-greet session with the iconic Fancy Feast cat.

Grand Tasting

The highlight of the inaugural evening will be the exclusive Fête du Feline Grand Tasting, a ticketed affair that promises an intimate experience for attendees. The event will be graced by none other than Fancy Feast’s in-house chef, Amanda Hassner, and culinary virtuoso Andrew Rea, renowned for his Babish Culinary Universe, where he meticulously recreates famous foods from TV and film. This dynamic duo will present a sumptuous pâté tasting, including a human version of Fancy Feast Gems – a tantalizing layered paté encircled by a halo of savory gravy.

“Pâté is a classic presentation in both fine dining and cat food,” said Rea. “While I recreate famous dishes every day, taking on my cat Bucky’s favorite food was a fun, new challenge for me.”

Chef Hassner, on the other hand, has masterfully crafted an array of sips and bites to showcase the delightful ways in which Fancy Feast pleases our feline friends. Guests will be treated to a savory basil lemonade served Fancy Feast-style and a globally-inspired Panzanella with succulent braised beef.

For The Cat Lovers

“In creating the menu for Fête du Feline, I wanted to play with all the things that make Fancy Feast so appealing to cats and bring those to life for cat lovers,” shared Hassner. “Serving food, whether to other people or our pets, is such an act of love, and I want humans to get a taste of the delight cats experience when eating.”
