Many sojourners seeking to get away from it all love traversing the high seas on luxury cruises. They offer all the amenities of a bespoke hotel surrounded by azure water.
The tastes of travelers are disparate. Some enjoy the availability of different cuisines while others seek the thrill of gambling. What's more consistent is which cabins to avoid.
Each cruise ship's layout is unique. Here, advice will be offered to which cabins not to select on Celebrity Reflection, part of the Royal Caribbean fleet.
Celebrity Reflection's Deck 6 aft cabins are above the theater and other venues. Rehearsals and performances can be heard at all hours.
Aft cabins in general are located near the ship's engines and propellers. Even low mechanical droning can be bothersome.
Anywhere above Deck 8 is subject to greater swaying from the sea. This is inadvisable for people prone to motion sickness.
Laundry rooms, maintenance spaces and room service facilities are scattered throughout Celebrity Reflection. These are constant sources of ambient noise.
A cruise ship is made of metal. Any cabin located near stairwells will have the sounds of foot traffic conducted into them.
Staterooms with balconies on middle decks have support beams and overhangs that may obstruct views of the indigo sea which would be the point of having a balcony.
Cruise ships offer "guarantee cabins" that are assigned by the booking agent for last minute scheduling or reduced fees. These may have have the aforementioned drawbacks.
