Traveling has its challenges for those trying to live a healthy vegan lifestyle. Many vegans resort to a diet loaded with carbs while abroad because of the scarce options available. Fortunately, a hotel in Scotland understands the struggle of the traveling vegan and has made their property 100% free of animal products.

Saorsa 1875 is the first vegan hotel in the U.K. and will open on June 15th. Built in 1875, this former Scottish country house located in the Victorian village of Pitlochry (en route to Loch Ness), has been restored into a trendy 11-room boutique hotel.

Everything from the decor, toiletries, food, drinks and cleaning products are vegan, making it the perfect hotel for anyone who prioritizes ethical living.

The founders, Jack and Sandra McLaren-Stewart, were very intentional in making Saorsa 1875 an eco-friendly oasis for vegans. The entire property is powered by Ecotricity, which is a Vegan Society-certified energy company.

All of the food will be sourced directly from the hotel’s vegetable patch or a local independent supplier by their lead chef, Luca Sordi. Notable vegan chefs from the U.K. will be partnering with Saorsa 1875 to create exclusive one-off dining experiences.

If you enjoy hitting up the bar while traveling, Saorsa 1875 will house a cocktail bar as well as cocktail masterclasses and wine and spirits tastings.

Even if you’re not vegan, this hotel will welcome you and maybe even teach you a thing or two about veganism and ethical living without compromising luxury.

Saorsa 1875 is currently accepting reservations, so what are you waiting for? You can book your reservation here.
