There are still great people in this world. St. Louis resident, Champale Anderson is living proof of this.

As a mother of 6, she understands that it can be hard for families to feed children as they grow. Therefore, she began purchasing food and snacks, from her own money, to prepare 100 bag lunches daily to any kid who is hungry. She has done this every day over the last five years.

The only request, simply knock on her door and ask.

Anderson has an open door policy. Many children stop by as soon as they get home from school excited for what the day’s snack bag will bring. There are even some parents who personally bring their children by to ensure that they are fed for the day.

“I’m just trying to help the kids that don’t have enough at home or just hungry after school. I have been doing this out my own money and I’m just reaching out,” Anderson said on her GoFundMe page.

She created the GoFundMe page to help solicit donations from anyone willing to help her carry out her mission. Her goal is to create more than 100 lunches, although some would say that’s a lot already.

There is a handwritten sign outside of her home that lets children know that the free meals are there as well as letting people know how they can contribute.

Each bag is usually packed with a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, fruit, cookies, juice, and snacks. She even sneaks in a few extra goodies here and there.

This woman is truly amazing and helping her community one lunch bag at a time. Thank you Champale!
