As the old adage goes, ‘money talks.’

Fisher Island, which is said to be America’s richest zip code, recently ordered COVID-19 antibody tests for more than 800 families on the island all because residents wanted them.

The island, which sits off the coast of Miami, has an average household income of over $2 million. To become a resident you must pay a one-time $250,000 equity contribution and $22,256 in annual dues. Not to mention the purchase of your multi-million dollar condo where prices average around $3.2 million.

Residents on the island are entitled to amenities like private beaches with sand imported from the Bahamas, a beach club, eight restaurants, a golf course, two deep-water marinas, a spa, 18 tennis courts, and the latest amenity– COVID-19 tests.

As to why the tests were purchased, “it’s what the Fisher Island residents wanted,” Lisa Worley, spokesperson for the University of Miami Health System told the Miami Herald.
