Adara, a business intelligence software company, put together a travel trend insights list for this year’s holiday period and based on data, Mexico and the Caribbean are top ranking destinations. 

Both Mexico and destinations in the Caribbean are in high demand when it comes to hotels and airlines. Travelers are eager to escape the cold weather and enjoy warmer temperatures.

Mexico came out on top as the top international destination for the November and December holiday season this year. Although travel is down by 23 percent for the Thanksgiving holiday and 28 percent for Christmas and New Years, hotel bookings in Mexico has increased by 11 perfect for the Thanksgiving holiday compared to last year. 

In 2019, U.S. travelers were booking trips to European and Asian destinations for the holiday season. This year, in addition to Mexico, Caribbean destinations like Jamaica, the Bahamas, Aruba, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands are in high demand. 

U.S. travelers who are keeping it domestic this year are heading to Las Vegas and Denver instead of the usual top spot, New York. 

Other popular U.S. destinations include Honolulu, Orlando, Miami, Tampa, New York, Los Angeles, Boston, Salt Lake City, Phoenix, and San Francisco.
