Ex-NBA Player Shawn Kemp Opens Seattle’s First Black-Owned Cannabis Dispensary

The first Black-owned dispensary has opened in Seattle thanks to NBA legend Shawn “Reign Man” Kemp.

The six-time NBA All-Star’s dispensary, Shawn’s Kemp’s Cannabis, is located at 3035 1st Avenue in the heart of the city near the Climate Pledge Arena and Seattle’s iconic Space Needle.

“I’m looking forward to welcoming Sonics fans [regularly,] starting with opening day,” said Kemp in a statement.

Kemp added that he hopes his excited about his new venture. He hopes that it will inspire people to get involved with the legal cannabis industry, especially people of color.

Shawn Kemp’s Cannabis will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 11:45 p.m. and will offer express order kiosks, online ordering, and curbside pickup.

Health and safety measures will be put in place to adhere to coronavirus prevention efforts, including social distancing and mask requirements.
