The cause of a Texas plane crash this past September has been linked back to a “gender reveal” party stunt gone wrong.

Officials from the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) said the small plane that crashed in the town of Turkey was flying “too slow.”

According to the NTSB report,  the plane had dumped more than 350 gallons of pink water to let people know that the couple hosting the event was expecting a baby girl.

That’s when things took a turn on the AT-602 Air Tractor Aircraft. 

After the water was dumped, the plane stalled and crashed.  

The plane’s pilot identified as Raj Horan, was not injured, but his passenger suffered minor injuries, according to the report.  

“The airplane sustained substantial damage to the fuselage, right-wing, and empennage. The pilot reported that there were no pre-accident mechanical failures or malfunctions with the airplane that would have precluded normal operation,” the report said.

This latest incident highlights an increasingly dangerous trend of gender reveals that may go too far.

In 2017, another gender reveal that went wrong damaged more than 45,000 acres and cost more than $8 million in damages in Arizona, as reported in People.

In October,  a grandmother was killed by debris from an explosion during a gender reveal party.

The victim identified as 56-year-old Pamela Kreimeyer was killed instantly after being struck in the head by a piece of metal from a pipe bomb her family created that would shout color gunpowder out of a stand.
