Cute Baby Leopard Found In Passenger’s Luggage At Indian Airport

Travelers are still trying to sneak things through airport security and not get caught. But this time may take the cake.

Last week, customs agents heard a strange noise coming from some luggage, so they decided to check it out. When they opened it, they discovered a baby leopard. You know, those vicious but regal creatures with spots usually found in Africa and Asia known to pounce on you at any moment? Yes, those animals.

The creature was only a month old when he was discovered in a grocery basket at Chennai Airport in India. The man was traveling from Bangkok and was immediately detained. “A 45-year-old Chennai-based man Kaja Moideen who works in Kuala Lumpur has been arrested and an investigation is on,” Customs Commissioner Rajan Chaudhary said. Authorities said Moideen was pretty vague while being questioned and authorities are trying to figure out if he is a member of an international smuggling ring. “He says he was supposed to hand it over to someone at the Chennai airport,” an officer said. “We made him wait, but no one came.”

News outlets shared a video of medical personnel trying to feed a bottle to the leopard, who was exhausted and scared by the whole ordeal. The animal was in a state of shock and was making trill sounds, and appeared to be weak,” airport officials said.

TN has been reporting on the random animals seen at airports around the world. Some are emotional support animals, while others were just coming along for the ride. From peacocks to pigs, nothing shocks us anymore. In November, officials at another airport in India found a poisonous snake in a man’s pants. In Canada, a man had close to 5,000 leeches tagging along with him.

After being examined, the feline was taken to the Arignar Anna Zoological Park in Chennai.
