Instagram model and reality TV star Blac Chyna is facing backlash after she announced a partnership with a skin-lightening cream company. She will launch the product in Nigeria.

The 30-year-old announced the news to her more than 14 million followers on Instagram earlier this week. The partnership is with Whitenicious by Dencia.

She asked her followers to join her in Lagos, Nigeria on Nov. 25 for the face cream’s official launch, which is being marketed to men and women of all skin-types to “help with hyperpigmentation.”

“Lagos Nigeria, join me at the first official launch of my face cream this Sunday, November 25th at the Whitenicious store from 1-5 pm,” she wrote on the social media platform. “Everyone is invited.”

The product will come in a handcrafted jar with Real Swarovski crystals and is priced $250 for a 100-gram jar.

“As time passes, skin becomes drier, dull, lines and wrinkles appear and the skin’s natural glow dims,” the product’s website reads. “With DIFBC, glowing skin shows less [discoloration] and unevenness while SPF protection [minimizes] future damage. Skin is bathed in moisture for a brighter, beautiful, comfortable feel.”

Chyna’s reps confirmed with TMZ that the reality-star has been “using Whitenicious dark spot corrector for a few years to deal with her hyperpigmentation.”

They told TMZ she “felt this was a good deal for her because a lot of women of color suffer from skin issues.”

Despite Chyna’s intentions for a “good skin-care” regiment, she has been blasted on social media for the partnership and people are calling her latest move a form of “self-hate.”
