When Donald Trump attacked the city of Baltimore earlier this summer, many people, including celebrities and city residents, came to the Charming City’s defense to highlight what the city has to offer.

From its seafood, diversity of cultures, house music, to its art scene, here are 6 reasons to visit  Baltimore, according to Oprah Magazine:

Fells Point

Filled with cobblestone streets, bars with live music,  boutiques, restaurants, and gelato,  Fells Point is one of many gems in Baltimore.  It’s a fun neighborhood all year round that sits right on the waterfront.

The National Aquarium

The National Aquarium is a great place to spend the day with family, friends, or by yourself.   Located in the city’s inner harbor, there are more than 20,000 animals across a dozen exhibits.

Festivals and Events

Baltimore is home to hundreds of creatives and as a result,  home to many festivals and cultural events.  Artscape, for example, is one of the nation’s largest free arts festivals.

Crab Cakes

Crab cakes are the city’s signature seafood dish and it’s where you will find the best crab cakes in the world.

The National Great Blacks In Wax Museum

This museum is the first of its kind for African American historical figures, featuring more than 150 life-like statues and their stories, according to Oprah Magazine.

It’s Not Washington D.C.

This is no disrespect to the nation’s capital as Washington D.C. is a vibrant city where on any given day or weekend, full of day-parties, politics, festivals, parades and more.

Its popularity also means a great deal of traffic that can make it hard to get around.  With that being said,  you can travel up I-95 or Baltimore Washington Parkway (the scenic route we prefer) and enjoy some of the best festivals, food, and more in Charm City without the touristy traffic.
