In an attempt to prevent the spread of COVID-19, Fiji announced that its borders will be closed to commercial flights until at least March 2021. But there is always an exception to the rule. In this case, that exception is devoted to travelers with deep pockets.

The Laucala Private Island Resort has partnered with Fiji Airways to offer visitors a “travel bubble,” that includes a special itinerary. You and 19 of your friends and family can fly on a private chartered Fiji Airways jet from Los Angeles to Nadi, Fiji’s international airport, where a private transfer will be waiting to take you to a private island retreat.

Although the few travelers currently allowed into Fiji are required to do a 14-day quarantine, visitors participating in this exclusive program are able to bypass that requirement due to Laucala’s remoteness. Travelers will still need to provide three negative COVID-19 tests, one two weeks before their flight, one 72 hours before boarding, and one upon arriving to Fiji.

The island includes 11 Plantation villas with private beach access, four Plateau villas perched atop a mountain with clear views of the sea, seven Seagrass villas on the beach, a villa on a cliff, one overwater villa, and the Hilltop Estate.

“Laucala’s 25 villas, all glamorous versions of traditional Fijian dwellings, each offer unparalleled exclusivity and privacy in dramatic, and very different, locations around the northern coast of the island,” reads a statement on the website.
