Travel photographers and enthusiasts, now’s your time to share your art with the world and maybe even make some money in the process. AFAR is hosting its second annual Photo Awards highlighting the diverse and creative ways in which photographers like you celebrate the world.

AFAR is one of the world’s leading travel media brands that is often recognized for their vibrant and authentic travel photography that celebrates global diversity in all its forms. This year, they have partnered with United MileagePlus to offer some impressive prizes for grand prize and category winners.

Amateur and professional photographers are invited to submit their work for consideration and the chance to win a publication in AFAR and on AFAR.com, cash awards up to $5,000, roundtrip flights, and more. 

All entrants will receive exposure, the AFAR Photography Guide E-booklet, and the opportunity for a judge’s pick photograph to be on display at a gallery space in San Francisco.

Your images must fall within at least one of the five categories including cities, food, outdoors, people, and style and design. Entries will cost you $10 for the first three images you submit with twenty-five percent of the proceeds going to their nonprofit, Learning AFAR.

According to their website, “learning AFAR is a travel scholarship program for students from low-income backgrounds and for those with mixed abilities. Driven by the belief that travel is the best education, its goal is to make it possible that all youth have the opportunity to explore their world, realize their potential, and transform their communities through their experiences.”
