Many reassess as the calendar flips to a new year. This may involve making a travel bucket list which, bluntly, is a catalog of places to visit before shuffling off the mortal coil.

Such a list is like a bespoke suit or dress. It's tailor-made for a person depending on their particular tastes and aspirations.

There are virtually no wrong choices when checking off where to go. Here are seven destination ideas to pique inspiration.

Whatever interests, it'll be found in the triumvirate of cities, Delhi, Jaipur and Agra. One can contemplatively tour Raj-era palaces or sign up to be an extra in a Bollywood film.

Golden Triangle, India

The UNESCO World Heritage Site boasts some of the best-preserved late-medieval architecture in all of Europe. Meet locals at the Gundulic Square Market.

Dubrovnik, Croatia

This is one of Southeast Asia's most complex cities. Experience grit and glamour by sampling street food, shopping at posh designer stores or drinking at a disreputable bar.

Bangkok, Thailand

One of the few places the phrase, "Must be seen to be believed," literally applies. The thundering natural wonder is surrounded by mind-boggling biodiversity.

Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe.

A bit tricky traveling from the US, but one can sidestep from Canada. The city is a pastiche of Spanish villas and art deco towers. The tantalizing aroma of local cuisine wafts.

Havana, Cuba

The BBC Proms is a staid classical music event in London while Tomorrowland is a churning, Europe-wide rave. Throughout the world are festivals showcasing every genre.

Music Festivals

Some say this portion of the Rocky Mountains in Alberta is the most majestically beautiful. Enjoy alpine forests and learn about the First Nations People of the area.

Banff National Park, Canada
