Visitors of New Orleans may limit their trip to the French Quarter, enjoying a parade or two. However, there's more to The Big Easy than the touristy stops. 

From visiting historical sites and catching beads to trying local cuisine and stopping for rest, here's a list of activities to add to your Mardi Gras bucket list.

Now that you're full it's time for the entertainment. The city offers an array of activities to enjoy, with the New Orleans Mardi Gras parade being one of them. Ready to move?

Whether throwing or catching, you'll need to be in the vicinity of a parade or a balcony. Perhaps you can find a spot that offers both? Bring a bag to carry what you collect.

King Cake is a New Orleans custom. It's tri-colored with frosting and an assortment of decorations from beads to tiny pigs. You can find it almost anywhere!
