The G7 is a group of seven major world powers: Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the UK and the US. Leaders meet annually to address global issues like the economy, climate change and security.

In 2025, the summit was held at Kananaskis Mountain Lodge near Calgary, spotlighting Canada’s role and natural beauty on the global stage.

Calgary is a major city in the province of Alberta, Canada, known for its stunning location near the Rocky Mountains. It’s famous for its vibrant economy, especially in energy and technology, and for its friendly, welcoming culture.

Calgary, Alberta

Calgary has been named the sunniest city in Canada, enjoying more than 2300 hours of sunlight every year.

It's also home of the Calgary Stampede. Often called “The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth,” this massive rodeo and festival draws over a million visitors every July.

Kananaskis Village is a picturesque resort community nestled in the heart of Alberta's Rockies, approximately 26 km south of the Trans-Canada Highway and 3 km west of Highway 40.

The village offers a range of accommodations, including the Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge, which features the Kananaskis Nordic Spa.

Visitors can also enjoy the Kananaskis Country Golf Course, a 36-hole public course designed by Robert Trent Jones, and the Nakiska Ski Area, which was the site of the 1988 Winter Olympics alpine events.

Kananaskis Village is a hub for outdoor enthusiasts, offering activities such as hiking, mountain biking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and fat biking.

Accomodation rates typically start around C$335 per night and can exceed C$500 per night, depending on the season and room type.

The most popular times are summer for outdoor adventure and winter for skiing and spa relaxation. If you want to avoid crowds and enjoy beautiful scenery, consider late spring or early fall.
