Here are some options for day trips from Edinburgh, ranging from historic castles to natural escapes.

This 15th-century chapel is famous for its intricate carvings, connection to The Da Vinci Code and many myths surrounding the Knights Templar and the Holy grail. Get there from Edinburgh in 30 minutes.

Stirling Castle, one of Scotland’s largest castles, was home to many royals including Mary, Queen of Scots. Reach it in an hour from Edinburgh. Nearby, you can also visit the Wallace Monument.
