Cape Town is surrounded with both a rich history to learn about, and diverse unique wildlife to explore.
Located just over an hour outside of Cape Town, this is a great place for sightseeing due to its diverse collection of wildlife and mountainous, beachy terrain.
This is deemed one of the greatest botanic gardens in the world and is less than an hour away from the city. They offer day tours, walking trails and occasionally host art exhibits.
Just a 2-hour drive, the reserve offers both day and overnight safari packages including food and transportation. Witness Africa’s “Big 5” (African lion, leopard, rhino, elephant and buffalo) up close!
Simons Town offers a variety of activities to occupy the day including whale watching, several museums and a beach. The 40-minute scenic drive from Cape Town is certainly worth it.
Only a half hour away, this is the perfect destination if you’re looking to pick up some souvenirs and try some new foods. Kalk Bay is known mainly for its various cafes, restaurants and unique local shops.
Kings Blockhouse is a very famous landmark, associated with local folklore. Just a half hour drive, and a 16-mile scenic hike up King mountain leads you to the peak, overlooking the city.
This is a coastal town located roughly an hour and 40 minutes away from the city. Known for its wine industry, craft markets and frequent festivals, there is no shortage of things to do and see.
About an hour away from Cape Town, this is home to several species that live nowhere else on Earth. It's also home to Table Mountain, a popular attraction with cableways that carry visitors to the top.
Robben Island is only accessible via a 2-hour ferry trip. Once arriving on the island, visitors can be taken on guided tours to learn about the historical significance and the biodiversity of the island.
