Celebrate the 4th of July weekend with a spooky Stranger Things-inspired carnival experience at New York’s Coney Island. From July 5 through July 7, Deno’s Wonder Wheel Amusement Park will transform into a 1985 sci-fi dreamscape to celebrate Season 3 of the edgy Netflix thriller.
Venture into the upside down dimension between 11am until 6pm, and treat yourself to ice cream from Hawkin’s Scoops Ahoy parlor along with other Stranger-themed activities. On opening day at 9:30pm, the amusement park will recreate Hawkins Fourth of July Spectacular Fireworks show.
A similar celebration will take place this weekend at Santa Monica Pier in California, complete with 80’s cover bands, the Hawkins’ High School cheerleading squat, food eating competitions, magicians, and Hawkins Bike Shop. The Stranger Things pop-up will dominate the pier from Saturday, June 29 and Sunday, June 30 from 11am to 9pm.
These Independence Day festivities seem to indicate that Season 3 will start off with a bang, so be sure to tune in when it premieres on Netflix on July 4.
