United Airlines is making history as the first U.S airline to give passengers access to COVID-19 testing while in the airport. The process would allow passengers with a flight to schedule a test, get tested in the airport and then upload the results onto an app for reviews.

Many believe this will be the future of traveling safely throughout this global pandemic. United hopes this travel ready center can combat some hesitation with traveling during this time.

The app provides passengers with updated protocols for the destination they would be traveling to. The testing center is powered by Xpres Spa Group serving as a pop-up site. Xpres Spa normally runs as a spa, but due to the global pandemic, has been closed since March.

The app launched three weeks ago and already has seen thousands of passengers upload their test results before departing their local airports. Besides the popular rapid testing, the Travel Ready Center also offers PCR and antigen tests on sight. You can currently find testing centers at Newark International Airport, San Francisco International Airport & LAX. United Airlines plans to expand the testing centers as they believe this will become the new normal.
