It’s beautiful that men and women are increasingly growing to feel comfortable in their own skin. The beauty industry is finally starting to cater to all skin tones, thanks to brands like Fenty Beauty and Juvia’s Place. Instagram has been the go-to spot where people can show off their makeup and beauty skills, but now they might have some competition.

Supermodel Tyra Banks made the announcement this week that she is opening a supermodel themed amusement park where travelers can go and embrace their personal beauty. The park is supposed to provide the fantasy of what its like to be an actual model. Called “Modelland,” the veteran model’s business idea is set to open later on this year in Santa Monica, California. The 21,000 sq. ft space will include retail stores and restaurants. Banks says amusement parks like Disneyland have always inspired her. “I’ve always been insanely inspired by attractions like Disneyland and Universal Studios and have wanted to bring that spirit of adventure and storytelling to the world of modeling,” Banks said. “But not the exclusive modeling industry. I’m talking about modeling for the masses.”

The host of America’s Next Top Model and America’s Got Talent has been working on the concept for the last ten years and is excited that it is coming to life. Banks wants Modelland to be a place that people can go and be comfortable. “All types of beauty — men and women, young and older — are invited to transform into the dream version of themselves,” Banks said. “When people leave Modelland, we want them to feel overjoyed and empowered.”

The “Lifesize 2” star has been busy since retiring her runway stilettos. Banks started a production company, put out an album, hosted a daytime talk show, and even taught a course at Stanford University. Opening at Macerich’s Santa Monica Place, Modelland will be the inaugural flagship, but there are hopes to open in other locations throughout the U.S.
