J had one thing in mind as he planned his first trip to Greece with his wife who he has been with for eight years and married for close to two.

“I wanted my wife to have the experience of a lifetime,” he recalls.

While the two have traveled internationally on separate occasions solo, Greece was the couple’s first trip together and J planned the whole thing.

In an interview with Travel Noire, the Nobles discuss why traveling as a couple is essential for a healthy relationship.

The Nobles in Greece

Travel Noire: Why did you choose Greece?

The Nobles: We both love Greek food so that’s how it started. I also wanted to pick a destination that my wife could do what she likes. Sometimes she likes to do things and sometimes she doesn’t. Greece was the perfect destination for that.

There’s no place that I’ve ever seen before in my life. It’s fun. It’s romantic, there’s history, and there is so much to do. They have the world’s best sunsets, we were able to rest and relax, and the people are friendly.

We both would relocate to most any Greek island simply for the food, climate, relaxed culture, Mediterranean seas, and endless entertainment.

Travel Noire: What’s the best part about traveling together?

We look forward to time away together, exploring new cuisine, and staying in gorgeous boutique hotels.

Travel Noire: Tell us about one of the most challenging times you’ve experienced during your travels and how you got through it.

Twice now we have ended trips early due to deaths in the family. These trips were not international but it’s always difficult to receive such news thousands of miles from home. However, family comes first. We adjusted our plans so my husband could be with family during very difficult times.

Travel Noire: What countries are next for you together?

Italy for sure, then maybe somewhere tropical, Europe, Africa, and Asia are also fav continents right now. I’d love to revisit Ghana or Japan with my husband.

Travel Noire: Lastly, what advice would you give traveling couples?

Just go. Create unforgettable memories together. Once you begin getting your passport stamped you will not want to stop. If one of you is more interested in planning trips, then take the lead. Otherwise, try a travel agency for ease in planning and for a comfortable visit. Also, it’s worth saving your coins to fly First Class internationally.
