Comfort food is a weakness to most and ramen can be an ultimate weakness. Ramen is a Japanese traditional noodle soup dish. It’s made up of many ingredients such as Chinese wheat noodles, meat or fish-based broth, soy sauce or miso, with toppings such as sliced meat, a boiled egg, bean sprouts, and scallions. As we enter the winter months, a big bowl of ramen has been on my mind.

Here are some restaurants with best ramen in the U.S.

KinNoTori Ramen – Atlanta, GA

KinNoTori stands out from the crowd from their broth alone. Instead of a pork broth they use a homemade chicken broth, and pairs the ramen with a piece of crispy fried chicken right on top.

Recommendations: Spicy Miso Tori, Midori Kale Ramen, Seafood Ramen

Menya Jiro – New York City, NY

Menya Jiro which originally hailed with Japan, made it’s way to NYC in 2016 & has been named the best Ramen in the city for years. The secret? They still get all of their ingredients shipped from Japan for a true authentic taste. Recommendations: Ibusuki and Grand Slam Ramen

Hinodeya Ramen Bar – San Fran, California

Hinodeya Ramen Bar has made a name for itself off of one recipe alone, the famous creamy ramen. A twist on the classic ramen broth with a touch of coconut milk turn ramen into a true winter dish.

Recommendations: Zen and Creamy Ramen

Tonchin NYC – New York City, NY

Is spicy ramen your thing? Then Tonchin NYC is the place for you, the specialize in making classic ramen with a touch on spice and smoke in every dish.

Recommendations: Spicy Tan Tan Ramen and Smoked Dashi Ramen

Otaku Ramen – Nashville, Tennessee

When you think of Nashville you probably don’t think of Ramen. However, Otaku Ramen has created a modern twist with ramen by combining some southern flare.

Recommendations: Monster Style Ramen and Hot Sour Tantanmen

Tsujita LA – Los Angeles, California

I hope you like waiting in line (we promise it’s worth it). This ramen bar, which is open until 2am, is a crowd favorite in L.A. Probably, not now due to COVID, but hopefully in the near future of 2021.

Recommendations: Spicy & Negi Ramen
