If 2020 wasn’t quite your year when it comes to travel, 2021 is looking up. There is a vaccine in the works and COVID-19 tests are becoming widely accessible.

When traveling in 2021 there are things you should consider, especially since a lot has changed in the travel landscape.

Here are 4 things to consider when booking 2021 travel:

As a result of the pandemic, airlines, cruise lines, and hotels have implemented flexible booking policies. This allows you to cancel or change the details of your booking without being charged.

When booking, be sure to research the booking policies first.

This year, travel insurance policies have changed to reflect COVID-19 related events such as hospitalisation and unexpected mandatory quarantines.

Some policies will cover medical costs but many won’t cover quarantine costs.

Keep in mind that each country has their own COVID-19 policies. Research the quarantine policies as well as testing requirements before booking your travel.

As you’ve seen this year, life is unpredictable. It’s important to be flexible and keep in mind that your travel plans may be canceled or delayed due to the pandemic. Keep an open mind and always do your research to ensure a safe travel experience!
