We are already preparing for getaways in 2019. We have to book flights and activities, but the most important thing is where we’ll be staying. Before you book your standard Holiday Inn Express or Marriott, try checking into these new hotels opening from coast to coast:

The new multi-million dollar hotel in Honolulu, Hawaii is a new look for the former Waikiki Parc Hotel, a historic site for the city skyline. Now with a more boutique-style look, Halepuna Waikiki gives guests the feel of New York City while hearing the ocean waves.

Guests can choose from 288 rooms and suites and experience a new pool deck on the eighth-floor and a bar with exquisite views. The lobby level restaurant has an open kitchen, outdoor seating, and a separate chocolate kitchen for those with a sweet tooth. Travelers can get a taste of the culture with artwork panning the walls through a partnership with the Honolulu Museum of Art. The hotel is anticipated to open in fall of 2019.

The Origin Hotel

The new boutique brand is making its debut in Lexington, Kentucky after getting rave reviews in North Carolina and Colorado. Set to open in the spring of 2019, the 120-room property, third of the brand, will sit in the middle of the Summit at Fritz Farm shopping center, home to 70 retail stores, giving the hotel a family-friendly vibe.

Origin will pay homage to the bluegrass region with the interior decor, starting with artwork by local artists in its decor and will use locally imported products for its onsite restaurant The Still, pairing brews, spirits, and bourbons with their all-day breakfast menu. One of their signature services is a hotel-curated “To-Do List” that encourages guests to explore what Lexington has to offer.

The Shinola Hotel

It looks like the folks at Shinola had time to create more than just watches. Teaming up with real estate firm Bedrock, the luxury watch brand is taking reservations through January 2 for the newest beauty in downtown Detroit, Michigan. With 129 guest rooms, guests will experience craftwork in over 50 different configurations with items unlike any other, like a Runwell desk clock, signature candle, and custom striped blanket.

Bask in the finest of food and drink at the hands of chef Andrew Carmellini, of The Dutch and Locanda Verde fame and pick a beer from a rotating selection at The Brakeman. The “Shinola Alley” retail space will host items from world-renowned brands like Le Labo and Madewell, as well as hometown designers.

Giving off lavish 1920s vibes, the new Last Hotel is set to open its doors in St. Louis, Missouri in the first quarter of 2019. The 142-room downtown hotel has guests buzzing about the 10th-floor rooftop bar with martinis and pre-Prohibition-era cocktails to match the feel. Celebrating both the past and future of the community, the hotel has partnered with local businesses to give a newer ambiance.

Some of the award-winning features host an on-site urban garden, custom-crafted furnishings, and of course era-inspired lighting. With original terrazzo floors, brick walls, and barrel ceilings to complement, even the staff uniforms designed by the Saint Louis Fashion Fund, go with the hotel’s theme.
