Love The Museum Of Ice Cream? It's Officially Getting A Permanent Location
Over the last few years, Instagram and social media as a whole has been filled with people bathing in giant pools filled with ice cream sprinkles. If you didn’t know it was all thanks to the now famous, Museum of Ice Cream.
This pop-up museum installation started in New York City in 2016 and after becoming a fan favorite, made its way around the nation and even the world.
The idea was started by Maryellis Bunn, along with a team of creators, to bring Maryellis’ childhood fantasy to life. She definitely succeeded in that.
This week, the museum officially announced that it would now bring a flagship location to NYC permanently.
This flagship location has been in the works for almost as long as the first pop-up went live.
“I want to continue to connect people and create moments of joy through ice cream. MOIC NYC will build upon Soho’s artistic history and contribute to the neighborhood’s resurgence as a place for imagination and creativity,” Bunn said in a statement.
The NYC flagship will bring a 25,000 square-foot experience over 3 levels. Get ready for a bigger and better sprinkles pool, perfect for that photo for the gram. There will also be 13 never before seen installations including one inspired by NYC’s subway system.
Guests will experience savory treats on a floating table, an epic three-story slide, a spectacular hall of giant scoops and a “Queen Bee hive” that you will only find if you follow the sound of a buzz.
According to the founders, this will be the first of several flagship locations or the museum.
“We are excited to delight our fans back where MOIC began and continue to unite people through the power of ice cream. MOIC NYC is the first of several flagship locations that will launch in the U.S. and abroad over the next 18 months,”, Co-Founder of Museum of Ice Cream Manish Vora said in a statement.
Tickets to MOIC NYC include ice cream tastings and signature treats exclusive to MOIC NYC. Tickets are $38 per person (children 2 and under are free).
MOIC NYC will open this fall. Tickets will go on sale starting October 9, but you can sign up now for an early access waitlist.
