If you’re a traveler that prefers nonstop flights between New Orleans and New York City, then your options just opened up.

Thanks to the $1 billion, 35-gate New Orleans-based airport terminal set to open in May 2019, Southwest Airlines (New Orleans largest operator) is now offering nonstop flights from MSY and LGA starting November 4th.

There will be only one nonstop flight option per day out of each airport with the morning flight option out of MSY, and an evening option out of LGA.

As the airline starts it’s nonstop service — the flights will depart from New Orleans at 9:10 a.m., landing at LaGuardia at 12:55 p.m and the returning flight will leave New York at 6:25 p.m. and land in New Orleans at 9 p.m. through December. Starting in January, the flight schedules from Louis Armstrong International Airport adjust with flights departing at 10:35 a.m., landing at LaGuardia at 2:20 p.m.

If you’re traveling between the two cities, and layovers are options for you, Southwest offers over 105 flights in and out of ‘The Big Easy’ throughout the day, and you still get to check two bags free of charge and make changes to your itinerary without those dreaded change fees.
