Service Dog Leaves Smelly Surprise For Delta Airlines Passenger

As soon as you board a flight, the first thing you want to do is relax. You definitely don’t want to deal with any nonsense.
That’s precisely why a passenger on a Delta Airlines flight lost his cool after he got to his seat and discovered feces all over the place. The previous passenger sitting in his seat was a four-legged service dog who decided to leave his poop everywhere.
Matthew Meehan said when he alerted the crew, they brushed it off and didn’t do much to help. “I have no idea why I wasn’t offered something from the biohazard kit to clean myself up with,” Meehan said. “Instead, I was handed two paper towels and one of those miniature bottles of Bombay Sapphire, a bottle of gin to clean myself with.” Classy.
To make matters worse, he said the crew members continued to board the plane with other passengers and said that there was nothing they could do for him after he cleaned the seat up. Having to bask in the smell during the Atlanta to Miami flight, the Michigan native said he and other passengers were forced to lay a blanket over the mess. Fed up, he exited the plane and asked to speak to a manager, who seemed to be bothered by his inquiry. “At the very beginning, she sighed, ‘what’s your problem?” Meehan recalled. “And it was just you know, I had to step back for a moment and say, alright, keep your composure. You do not want to be one of these people you see on the news getting kicked off a plane. Meanwhile, I’m covered in feces.”
Since the smelly incident, Delta has issued a statement saying, “On Nov. 1, an aircraft operating flight 1949 from Atlanta to Miami was boarded before cleaning was completed following an incident from a previous flight with an ill service animal. Delta apologizes to customers impacted by the incident and has reached out to make it right, offering a refund and additional compensation. The safety and health of our customers and employees is our top priority, and we are conducting a full investigation while following up with the right teams to prevent this from happening again. Upon landing in Miami, the aircraft was taken out of service to be deep cleaned and disinfected.”
Of course, Delta offered Meehan a refund which he gladly accepted and said he has been contacted by plenty of lawyers looking to take his case on.
