The restaurant scene in San Francisco suffered this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic–but thanks to outdoor dining, many restaurants and foodies are finding a new way to break bread with friends.

Here are our 10 favorite outdoor dining spots in San Francisco:

Starbelly is known for its amazing weekend brunches and bottomless mimosas! Head to this restaurant located in the Castro District to enjoy California comfort food done right.

Located at the Phoenix Hotel, this spot is perfect for dinner and drinks by the pool. Indulge in the chickpea shakshuka and the warm chocolate cake for dessert!

If you’re looking for a spot with yummy handmade pasta, A Mano is a must. This Italian eatery with Northern California influence has the most delicious squid ink spaghetti and rigatoni.

Head to Proper Hotel to enjoy this lovely rooftop spot. Reservations are highly recommended and the restaurant is currently open for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch.

Causwells is the perfect eatery if you’re craving Southern food. With it’s recently updated outdoor space, this restaurant is beautiful and has delicious oak-smoked St. Louis ribs and sliced brisket.

With two locations, Fiorella prides itself on making sure it’s patrons are comfortable. You won’t have to worry about feeling cold from the San Francisco breeze, because Fiorella has heat lamps to keep you warm! We hear the sweet corn pie is absolutely delicious.

Head to Zazie for an unforgettable date night in Cole Valley. This neighborhood bistro has absolutely delicious dishes like the fresh black truffle & porcini ravioli and braised lamb shank! What’s best is that this establishment is proudly tipi free. The website states: “All of our menu prices include a living wage, revenue share, paid family leave, fully funded health & dental insurance, paid time off, and a 401(k) with employer match for all of our hard working employees.”

Enjoy oysters, lobsters, scallops, and more while enjoying the waterfront views of Bay Bridge. Be sure to bring a jacket because it can get quite chilly here at night!

It’s always a great day for tacos. Tacolicious serves up amazing Cal-Mex food. Head here for happy hour on weekdays between 3 and 6 p.m. for amazing deals on margaritas and more.

In the mood for Mediterranean food? Head to Noosh for an upscale Eastern Mediterranean experience. You could never go wrong ordering the smoked salmon spread, falafel, and loaded smashed potatoes.
