The North Face Is Offering A Free Two-Week Virtual Summer Camp
Summer plans across the world have been rocked by COVID-19 this year, leaving parents with little to no options. With only a few weeks left in the season, you may be desperate to come up with activities for your children. It’s time to get creative. Welcome to Summer Base Camp, an online camp experience offered by outdoor clothing and gear brand, The North Face.
“Created for curious explorers who love a little mess, Summer Base Camp teaches campers of all ages how to find adventure at home,” says the website. Each week, Summer Base Camp will launch three new educational, hands-on, fun-filled activities for campers and parents to complete at their own pace at home, with activities guided by The North Face’s very own team athletes.
The current Week 1 options include DIY Aurora Borealis-Inspired Tie-Dye with a step by step video to follow at home, Adventure Photography with Jimmy where Academy Award-winning filmmaker Jimmy Chin guides campers in the process of creating a DIY pinhole camera with six simple supplies, and Geometric Designs with Nina to make a geometric masterpiece with items found in the great outdoors.
The Summer Base Camp Checklist provides a full outline of all the supplies you will need to compete these activities from home to ensure you are fully prepared to get started and to make the most of your summer camp experience. From rubber bands to shoeboxes, the supplies are easy to find or purchase and many participants may already have a few of these items in their homes.
The online Summer Base Camp is free to join, simply sign up on the website to get started. You may even win some North Face gear by participating in prize package giveaways outlined within a few of the activities.
