Nick Cannon Co-Opens Vegan Soulfood Spot In Los Angeles

Over the last few years, Nick Cannon has made it public that, after being diagnosed with Lupus, he is now practicing a healthier lifestyle. The entertainer has even taken on the task of completing a Dr. Sebi documentary to educate even more people about eating whole.

Last week, Cannon, along with Charlotte-based restaurant owner Chef Velvet, opened their restaurant The VTree Hollywood. The two met after Cannon visited Chef Velvet’s Charlotte restaurant, Veltree. He was so amazed by the food that he wanted to bring it to Los Angeles.

While the restaurant’s menu changes often, customers can expect southern classics like chicken and waffles, macaroni and cheese, and bbq ribs– all with a vegan twist.

On the first day of opening, the restaurant completely sold out.

“LA, thank you! Thank you for completely selling us out. Thank you for your [patience], thank you for your encouraging words, and thank you for your support,” the restaurant wrote on Instagram. “We do not take it for granted that you choose to support our business…. again, thank you.”
