A lawsuit has been filed against United Airlines by an unidentified NFL player claiming the airline didn’t respond to his report of being sexually assaulted and harassed on a flight earlier this year.

The player was on a redeye flight from Los Angeles to Newark, New Jersey on February 10th when he experienced multiple “unwanted sexual advances” by a female passenger sitting in the same row.

The NFL player alleges that the female passenger was intoxicated and taking prescription pills. His lawsuit also claims that the passenger said he looked “frightening” before grabbing his penis & ripping off his protective face mask mid-flight.

According to Bleacher Report’s Master Tesfatsion, the player is listed as John Doe 1 in the suit along with another male passenger, John Doe 2, who was also sitting in the same row and experienced sexual harassment from the passenger. The two men claim that four complaints were made against the female passenger before she was eventually moved by flight attendants.

The NFL player wishes to remain anonymous at this time. The two men are described in the suit as African-American men and the woman as a middle-aged Caucasian female.

The NFL player and the other African American male passenger are seeking compensatory and punitive damages.

“United has an obligation to keep its passengers safe,” attorneys Darren Darwish and Benji Azizian said in a statement. This matter is about accountability, not just from United but the assailant as well.”
