Missy Elliott is finally getting the flowers she deserves. Ahead of receiving her long-overdue MTV Video Vanguard Award on August 26th, a pop-up museum will be erected in the rapper/singer/songwriter/producer’s honor.

On Saturday, August 24 and Sunday, August 25, you can stop by 632 Broadway in New York City to experience the Museum Of Missy Elliott. The interactive museum experience will shed light on Missy’s work and the creative visionaries behind some of her most iconic music videos including June Ambrose, Hype Williams, Dave Myers, HiHat, Billy B and Gloria Elias-Foeillet.

Those familiar with the career of Missy “Misdemeanor” Elliott can all agree that she’s more than deserving of the Video Vanguard Award. Her unique style and unapologetic contributions to the hip hop industry aren’t praised nearly enough. In March, she received an honorary doctorate at Berklee College of Music’s commencement and in June, she was finally inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, making history as the first female rapper, and only third rapper overall to receive the honor.

If you’re looking to attend the Museum of Missy Elliott this weekend, make sure you RSVP here.
