Miley Cyrus Says Plane Was Struck By Lightening While Heading To Paraguay

On Wednesday morning, Miley Cyrus let her fans known that her flight to Paraguay had to make an emergency landing as it was “caught in a major, unexpected storm.” The pop star was en route to headline the Asunciónico festival in Asunción.

“To my fans and everyone worried after hearing about my flight to Asunción. Our plane was caught in a major, unexpected storm and struck by lighting. My crew, band, friends and family who were all traveling with me are safe after an emergency landing,” Cyrus shared with her followers on Instagram.

In the post, Cyrus also included footage of lightening from one of the window’s on a plane with the sound of frightened passengers and a photo of the damage to the plane.

Cyrus ended her message with, ”We were unfortunately unable to fly into Paraguay. I LOVE YOU”

The city of Asunción suffered major flooding on Tuesday. The Asunciónico Festival tweeted due to the unexpected severe weather conditions, the first day of the event had to be cancelled.

Also scheduled to perform opening day: Foo Fighters, Doja Cat and Machine Gun Kelly

Organizers are still unsure if the festival will continue for the remaining days scheduled.
